My teeth are going yellow, too much coffee/sweet?any ideas, tried and tested products? that work?

I feel your pain. I drink coffee, Cokes, red wine, and eat a lot of chocolate. I find that if I just rinse my mouth after each cup of coffee, or after eating, it helps keep the stains from setting. Once or twice a week I brush my teeth with a combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. It tastes nasty, but will clean your teeth. My dentist says he can't tell I have such bad coffee, wine and chocolate habits. Every day I brush my teeth with Tom's of Maine toothpaste. It's an all natural product that you can find almost anywhere, Walgreen's, Winn-Dixie, Whole Foods.

stop drinking coffee, any of the large companies that have products work
Reply:go to a dentist
Reply:Coffee, smoking and poor hygiene habits are major factors that add to yellowing. First all teeth are NOT pearly white, only the movies and advertisers want you to think that. Several products OTC work to some extent. If you have a serious issue or just want them whiter the natural you need to see a dentist.
Reply:if you dont want to stop then get your teeth professionally whitened
Reply:Use the gift of nature.

Guava leaves are very good for removing tarter, the yellowish color of your teeth.

Take one healthy guava leaf and wash it well. Use some table salt mixed with it. Scrub your teeth everyday morning and you will see that your teeth will sparkle within a few days.
Reply:Its called a toothbrush and was invented in my homestate of West Virginia. If it was invented anywhere else it would have been called a Teethbrush.
Reply:Go to your dentist. You need to go for a regular clean at the dentist every 6 months and you'll see the results. Yellow teeth are usually caused by too much coffee, smoking and sweets. Make sure you brush your teeth twice a day!!
Reply:First of all if ur toothpaste contains too much fluorine then pls change it.Next u should brush often.Scaling puts makes ur gums loose, so its better that u use tooth whiteners available at the chemists before going to a dentist.see if u have any vitamin or mineral deficiencies. If u have bad breath, take care of ur stomach and what u eat n all will b fine.
Reply:o.k, i drink coffee too and u don't have to stop.Crest dental plan works great! They have night toothpast, mouth wash...and it costs a whole lot less then the dentist. But make sure that you don't mix one brand of toothpaste w/ another. And do exactly what it tells you to do on the package. And it is usually best NOT to ask a dentist. Just b/c he(she) will try to sell you expensive stuff.
Reply:Go Smile tooth whitening system is amazing. $89, but soooo worth it. It will take your teeth ten shades lighter in seven days, guaranteed. Without tooth sensitivity. I am an ex-smoker and you would never know it from my pearly white teeth after using this product.
Reply:Drink more water and go to your dentist. Sometimes caffine can start to eat away the enamel in teeth. Stick to flouride cavity fighting toothpaste. Cut down the heavy caffine and again see your dentist.
Reply:Topol smokers toothpaste and mouthwash are for yellowing stains. You can see immediate results. Also, brush 1-2x more often and maybe see your dentist for a cleaning as these methods are for in between cleanings. Good luck!
Reply:OTC stuff may work but the best thing to do is to get a dentist to tell u whats up
Reply:crest white strips worked very well for me.
Reply:I kind of had the same problem except I drank tooo much diet pepsi! It started to rot away my teeth!! No joke! But anyway, the best thing to do is to slowly cut down on the coffee and sugar. Drink more water and eat more calcium. Milk isn't really the best thing for your teeth.. even tho people say it is.. i asked my dentist and he even said it isn't really that good. Brush more often, and use mouthwash 2-3 times a day. ACT or Flourigard works. If you absolutly must drink coffee.. just try to drink it as little as possible. in time it'll be okay!
