It also depends on your skin color. If you are vary fair, then bright white isn't quite as unnatural looking. For those of us with darker complexions, the ultra-white teeth can look silly.
Visit a dentist for a consultation, but my inclination would be that if the WhiteStrips were used properly and had no effect you might not need whitening.
In office treatments also tend to cause more sensitivity because they use stronger agents. If you have it done, make sure they make you fluoride trays.

Honestly I think they whiten as well as the store products. That is my opinion.

one should perform self bleaching only under the supervision of the qualified dental surgeon. i can advice you good bleaching agent but cant .. reason is that i dont know how much your teeth are discoloured %26amp; wat is the cause of it.. the bleaching agent is acidic in nature.. it might result in white patches if not done proeprly.

Does the rembrant two hour teeth whitening product work?
Haven't tried that brand, but I do recommend Crest White Strips. It only took me a few days to notice a change, and if you keep up with it for the recommended 14 days, you'll notice a dramatic change.
If you have really sensitive teeth like I do, do NOT get the Crest White Strips - Professional. My dentist warned me, but I tried anyways and they made my fingers and gum get white and bubbly. It went away after a few minutes, but don't risk it. Use the White Strips - Regular or Renewing instead. :)

Reply:The Pearl Drops product tastes good and the bottle is cool, but I don't think it is that good for tooth whitening and does seem to have abrasiveness in it which could be damaging. If you are a smoker you might try Topel toothpaste. My dad used it for years to remove tobacco stains from his teeth.
For tooth whitening, it would be better to try one of those over the counter whitening products that come in a gel peroxide bleach form or go to the dentist.

Use a high fluoride mouthwash as well (such as Oral B's Fluorinse) if you have sensitivity. Also the toothpaste can be rubbed into sensitive teeth a bit like an ointment and allowed to soak in overnight - don't be too generous with it just burnish it into the sensitive spots. Continue to use the Sensodyne for a few weeks after whitening.
If you find you are very sensitive then instead of using the product on a daily basis only use it every other day or every 2 days. It will take you longer to attain your desired degree of whiteness but it won't be as uncomfortable - continue with the desensitizing toothpaste during the days you are whitening.

Crest whitestrips. The 3-5 day ones. Just remember they work best if you have your teeth cleaned regularly b/c otherwise you will just whiten the buildup on your teeth. Also, only to be used at most once every six months or once a year. Just be careful not to get them on your gums. If this is impossible, apply some vaseline on your gums first. It may make your teeth temporarily sensitive for a week or so following use. A fluoride rinse will help with this. After whitening or before bed, swish, spit, do not rinse/eat/drink for at least 30 minutes. Or, sensitive toothpaste, brush, spit, do not rinse/eat/drink for at least 30 minutes or you will rinse all the active ingredient off and it won't work. The whitestrips work for most people, but if you don't get the results you want with these then you need professional whitening so don't waste your money on anything over the counter.

What's the best teeth bleaching product to use at home?
Crest whitestrips. The 3-5 day ones. Just remember they work best if you have your teeth cleaned regularly b/c otherwise you will just whiten the buildup on your teeth. Also, only to be used at most once every six months or once a year. Just be careful not to get them on your gums. If this is impossible, apply some vaseline on your gums first. It may make your teeth temporarily sensitive for a week or so following use. A fluoride rinse will help with this. After whitening or before bed, swish, spit, do not rinse/eat/drink for at least 30 minutes. Or, sensitive toothpaste, brush, spit, do not rinse/eat/drink for at least 30 minutes or you will rinse all the active ingredient off and it won't work. The whitestrips work for most people, but if you don't get the results you want with these then you need professional whitening so don't waste your money on anything over the counter.

I get Consumer Reports Magazine and the 2 top rated last year I believe were Crest Premium White Strips and Colgate Simply White Night. Honestly, I used Crest Whitening Proffessional (you can get it at your dentist or better yet, on ebay), and it works like magic.I've only whitened my teeth once, and that was a year and a half ago. I have used Crest White strips which tend to slip around a lot %26amp; Rembrandt strips. I know the fitted trays with professional whitenener have worked very quickly and the results are the best I've ever had. See if you can get them done at your dentist office where they can make you whitening trays or look into Zoom whitening which is definitely the quickest way to whiten your teeth! Good luck.

Reply:yes, actually i work in a dental supplier company and we use them, and personally i have used rembrant whitening strips and crest whitening strips , i really liked the rembrant ones, they are used at night for about 30mins, kinda feels like you have a mouth guard in your mouth but it really works!!! but to get the best results do it right after you do a cleaning at the dentist its the best way :) if you cant find the rembrant strips crest will do the same thing! they are both really good :)...but i wouldnt recommend to do whitening at your dentists office because its not good for your teeth, they are less harmful :)

Gold seems to be ok as long as it is a good quality gold such as high noble, and white composites or porcelain fillings can be used.
Hydrogen peroxide can whiten teeth, but it can penetrate teeth, which are porous, and cause sensitivity. It is used in dental bleaching. Myself, I do not recommend teeth whiteners of any kind, for the same reason. If you do decide to use a teeth whitener, either over the counter or from the dentist, if you are not avoiding foods that cause staining, your teeth will stain again, and you will have wasted your money. To whiten your teeth often, will most likely cause sensitivity, enamel breakdown, and can lead to cavities. The long term effects of teeth bleaching on nerves and blood vessels inside the teeth are unknown. Laser bleaching seems to cause more problems with sensitivity than non-laser bleaching. Bleaching does not work on false teeth, crowns, veneers or fillings (even white ones). You may opt to replace those with lighter shades if you don't like the color. Bleaching is not recommended for children whose teeth are still developing or for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
It is important to brush after meals to avoid plaque and tartar build up, which can also cause discoloration. crest whitestrips, as mentioned, are great. BUT the equate version of whitestrips works EXACTLY the same, but are much cheaper. Just be sure not to wear them (either brand) longer than the box says to, or else you will end up with VERY sensitive teeth.

Are tooth whitening products okay to use on dentures?
You can use a whitening toothpaste to brush them with (over a sink of water so they won't break if they fall out of your hand) otherwise use just a denture tablet to soak them in. Whitestrips or whitening trays will not change the color of the dentures since they are created by a lab and are color stable. I would recommend that if you think that they have stain on them to have your dentist or hygienist clean them with a solution in an ultrasonic cleaner and then they can be scaled or polished as necessary.....In order to get whiter dentures you will need new ones, wish I had a better news about that!!!

My dentist recommended, and I used, Crest whitening strips. They definitely work and are relatively inexpensive.
The only drawback is that they make some people's teeth sensitive. My dentist forewarned me of this and suggested using a sensitive toothpaste during the period of strip use.
He also told me to NEVER use baking soda or a toothpaste with baking soda in it. I was surprised because this was something I had done forever... Apparently it breaks down the enamel of your teeth.
I also tried Listerine whitening mouthwash. I didn't notice much difference with it and I really didn't like it. It seemed to keep foaming in my mouth long after expulsion. (My hygienist told me not to use Listerine unless it was the new non-alcohol version. She recommended Crest Pro Health or Biotene)
If you smoke and cannot brush after, rinse your mouth by swishing water around. This prevents tobacco build up along the gum line.
Coffee, tea and other caffeine drinks tend to stain along the gum line as well. Again, if you can't brush, rinse with water.
Lastly, a good way to keep them their whitest once you get them there... see your hygienist every six months for a good cleaning.

I prefer the rembrant strips b/c they are firmer and hold in place better but they do not offer as many different kinds as Crest.
