Do Teeth whitening over the counter products work? If yes Which ones?

Ive been wanting to whitening my teeth but I dont want to spend my money on something im not sure it might work.





If you tried one please tell me if it worked or not?

The crest whitening products work great. I use Crest whitening toothpaste and it's made a difference.

Reply:yes crest white strips work great i use them once a week and they work just the same they can cause cancer if you use them 1ce every day or more for a long period of time they are perfect ly safe if you use them once a week and it works also ask your dentist

but they don't work if you have white fillings on the front of your teeth

Basically, yes, they work, but the results are marginal at best. Remember, OTC products have to be idiot-proof. In order to make them idiot-proof, they have to be weak.





Any time I look at a patient, I can tell who has been using Crest Whitestrips by the lack of uniformity of the whitening. The flat surfaces of their teeth are lighter, with the curved areas and crevices remaining yellow. Their teeth look like sh*t, in my professional opinion.





Bleaching trays that your dentist can make for produce vastly more cosmetic results. While the initial treatment is a bit expensive (expect to pay around $500 for it), it's worth it, as touch-ups in the future are much cheaper.
Reply:Colgate whitening toothpaste is good but you also need to cut down on coffee, coke, smoking and any coloured foods and drinks.
Reply:the whitning gel you put in the teeth guards are real good - the gel comes in syringe looking tubes u fill the teeth guard then leave in mouth for a few minutes-( not the overnight kind) u will see results after 20 minutes- but says u can do up too 3 hrs but u really dont have to also you can save leftover gel too so it doesnt go to wastet if you do not do the full 3 hrs- the pack contains 3 syringes and top/bottom teeth guards- it costs about 20.00 but well worth it.

Reply:Yes. Crest Whitening Strips work. my bf uses them. he did only the top of his teeth to see the difference. BOY!!! what a difference. We got lucky and got 3 boxes at our indoor swap-meet 2 weeks ago for $3.99 a box. What a deal!!! But watch out using them too often, it removes the plaque from your teeth.
