Whtening teeth..... How to at home, with out products!??!?!?

Okay, I really want whiter teeth and no toothpaste seems to make them whiter.

Crest white strips are too expensive for me. I need a way to whiten them with stuff at my house.

Or should I just give up???

Please give reasonable answers :] %26lt;3

I've actually wondered myself why so many Whitening toothpastes don't seem to have any effect.

One reason I've found for this is that they do not contain the amount of Hydrogen Peroxide they would need to make an actual difference, which is because by law they are only allowed to add so much, another being that these companies make false claims about their product and get away with it.

According to the BBC's website one reason could also be that people's expectations are too high, a dentist on their website says: "Teeth are not naturally white, they are a greyish yellow. People should not aim to get a supernaturally white smile" - but I suppose many people are so used to seeing celebrities who have had cosmetic dentistry they see that as the norm.

I have found a website with recipes for home-made teeth whitening, the recipe I have heard works the most is "Mixing Baking Soda with water until it forms a paste" use this before brushing with toothpaste and remember to floss and rinse. I've heard people recommending the pure form of bleach in addition to Baking Soda but I'd recommend you stay away from it as it can severely damage your teeth.

From my own personal experience I would suggest a toothpaste called "Beverly Hills Formula" if you can get hold of it. The BBC website also lists two as being accredited by the British Dental Association they are: Macleans Whitening Toothpaste and Aquafresh Whitening Toothpaste.

Hope that helped.
Reply:Apparently, baking soda is the way to go.

I'm a little scared myself, and it's definitely not something good to do everyday..

but give it a go ;]
Reply:well tooth pastes are abrasive, meaning they scrape off a layer of enamel and gunk to get your teeth to be whiter

an alternative woudl be getting an abrasive whitening toothpaste and brusing 3-5 times a day

or getting the whitening gel, which happens to bea bit cheaper than the whitestrips.

good luck!
Reply:swish a half cap of peroxide and half water and use the baking soada toothpaste
Reply:Bicarbonate of soda is good.
