Science Fair Project on tooth whitening products.....help!?

I have a science fair project due this thursday and i hardly did anything..... Instead of testing tooth whitening products on teeth, i tested them on eggshells.....This won't deduct any points from my project, since they both contain calcium??? Please help??? how do i know for sure if they are very similar?

Unfortunately, eggshells and teeth are not made of the same material; eggshells are calcium carbonate and teeth are calcium phosphate. Having said that, you also have the problem that eggs are already white, so it would be difficult to get them whiter. You might be better off using a bone, which has the same composition as teeth and won't be as white.
Reply:i dunno i think u shouldve picked something that has ALL or most of the similarities of teeth. i.e. the eggshells should contain most of the things teeth have in them... but im not sure that there is anything like that.
Reply:Eggshells are fairly porous, unlike teeth. The whole idea of tooth whitening is not to affect the calcium in the tooth itself but to bleach out the substances that are staining it. An eggshell holds stains well so it would show more dramatic results than with real teeth.
