What are the best products for teeth whitening?

But nothing too pricey...

thanks =)

What are the best products for teeth whitening?
I can say that most of my patient's have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips (which cost about $20.00), some more than others. Our office uses the Supreme which are 4 times stronger than what you can get in the store (AND cost $60.00), but the others will work as well but take more time and possibly more than one kit. The results are usually pretty quick, noticeable in the first few days, best in a week or longer. If you can, do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar, plaque, or orthodontic cement) will impede their ability to work. They will not whiten any white fillings you may have, but whiten uniformly. Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). You should not drink or eat anything dark for at least 1/2 hour after using the strips.

The strips/trays are your least costly whitening method as compared to custom made trays or in office whitening ($500.00+) All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. If you get sensitive use the product every other day in conjunction with a sensitive tooth toothpaste. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don't smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. Whatever method you use it will not whiten your teeth for life, as you age your teeth will get darker and may need to be whitened again.

Good luck!

Reply:tipex you can get a bottle for a few quid
Reply:.well i think nothing is really good for you, they all claim to whiten your teeth but most are quite abbrassive, having them proffesionally bleached is ok for a quick fix but its pricey, my only advice is to avoid smoking, eating ( except lettuce ) and drinking ( except water ) and brush 3 times daily
Reply:I dont recomend any of those useless brands like colgate or crest use something more like arm and hammer extra whitening (usualy they lie when they say EXTRA EXTRA CONTINOUSLY WHITNING IN BIG WORDS) but im sure arm and hammer brand will help i use it and its fantastic! ( not even expensive.
Reply:The only natural way to brighten your teeth is to eat fresh healthy foods with plenty of fruit and cut out the junk food. Your skin will be bright and clearer also.
Reply:One thing not to use is home whitening kits. They can be corrosive to the enamel on your teeth and cause gum damage. Not to by the mention the unknown damage you can suffer by swallowing the bleach. Plus once you start using them some people get a very distorted view of how white their teeth should be and end up using them more than the recommended times.
Reply:Crest Whitening strips are really good. They are American but I think u can buy thyem over the internet. Try doing a search on Google.

For home remedies.

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.

Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.

Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.

Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.

If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you!

Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

Reply:do not try tips form people like baking soda and things like this as these are not known to be either safe, or unsafe to your enamel. like many people have said above, home-whitening kits are abraisive and dangerous to your tooth's enamel too. but there are two toothpastes that work and are safe if used in moderation. they are pearl drops: (can be brought from boots)

pearl drops hollywood smile (6.99)- best for a two week lasting smile

pearl drops party sparkle (7.99)- lasts for about a day but great

pearl drops replenishing white-(9.99) fantastic to use everyday and safe! works well and gives a fab smile!

hope it helped. any more info you'd like? email me if so-

Reply:I use Crest Whitening Strips. I also use Crest Vivid White tooth paste. You should also buy an electric tooth brush, this will help naturally whiten your teeth and keep them this way.
Reply:i have effectively and safely whiten my teeth with a good teeth whitener like maximum teeth whitening. it gave me desired white teeth results in just minimum time. it cost a fraction of what the dentist offers.
