Are tooth whiting products bad for your teeth?

like crest white strips and such.

Are tooth whiting products bad for your teeth?
Crest White strips and other products used by dentist to whiten teeth do not contain bleach(sodium hypochlorite) . The active ingredient is carbamide peroxide, which is perfectly safe for teeth as long as the pH is properly controlled. Any product that has the ADA seal of acceptance has undergone testing for safety and efficacy--just make sure to check what you use.
Reply:Yes, they are bleach, so it eats through the enamal to get to the tooth to bleach it out. Crest white strips are milder than the other bleaching techniques used by a dentist. If you use them follow the directions carefully so you do the least amount of damage to your teeth.
