Does listerine whitening rinse make your teeth weak or sensitive (to cold food and drinks)? because some teeth whitening products do.

Actually tooth whitening products do not weaken the teeth- The enamel protecting your teeth is like diamonds- it does not wear away- if you already have cavities- then yes your teeth may be sensitive to some mouth washing products.....unless of course you have the rare disorder-that you are born without tooth enamel

Reply:No, I have been using it for about a year with no problem, it really brightens my teeth, I am a coffee drinker about 3 cups a day, and it gets my teeth pretty white.
Reply:it doesn't make them weak, but ive noticed a huge difference in sensitivity. eating ice cream, or drinking cold water is a killer...ive stoped using it for those reason. i didn't think it did any for the whitening situation either... so good luck with that one!
Reply:Sensitive because it contains achocol in it and it might be cold at first but it isnt really good for you

i keep away from mouthwashes with alcohol. no good. i use auromere products/toothpaste, has natural whiteners, bla bla bla. keep in mind when using natural products, you may need to use them for 6 months or so, (without checking everyday) before you realize one day - wow, there's a diff.


if your teeth are real sensitive i would use weleda calendula GEL toothpaste. made a world of diff for me, used it for 6 months, went back for my next dental hygiene cleaning, and whala! no sensitivity.
Reply:NO! It is very gentle. I have very sensitive teeth and I have been using this with great success. It just makes your teeth feel incredibly clean because you use it right before you brush, It isn't intense like the original Listerine mouthwashes. It whitens more slowly than other products, but it's a great trade-off.
